Personal guarantees in Alberta require a Guarantees Acknowledgment Act Certificate completed by a lawyer.
The lawyer must review the guarantee with you and confirm that you understand its nature and effect before the certificate can be issued.
This is a lawyer-only service and cannot be completed as a standard notarization appointment.
